New electric waste collection truck

A modern zoo should not only provide exceptional care for its animals and offer memorable experiences for its visitors, but also serve as a model and source of inspiration through its responsible approach to sustainability and environmental protection. To support these goals, we have expanded our vehicle fleet with a new Category N2 electric vehicle designed for the collection of municipal waste. The vehicle will improve operational efficiency throughout the zoo, simplify and accelerate the daily work of our staff, and at the same time help reduce transport-related emissions.

For us, nature conservation is no longer focused solely on protecting endangered species and supporting conservation projects. It also means using natural resources responsibly in every aspect of our daily operations. This commitment is reflected in our use of reusable beverage cups, rainwater retention systems, energy-efficient appliances, waste-sorting stations, and, most recently, our photovoltaic power plant.

The photovoltaic installation was built in the form of carports—modern support structures that provide covered parking at the free P5 car park near the seasonal entrance to the zoo. Our carport installation is the second largest facility of its kind in the Czech Republic.
