May at Zlín Zoo

May at Zlín Zoo

May is a beautiful time to visit our zoo! The entire area is full of fresh greenery and blooming flowers. On weekends and public holidays, you can also enjoy guided animal feedings.

Spring is in full bloom here. The whole zoo is shining with fresh greenery, and the famous purple and pink rhododendrons, azaleas, tulips, and other spring flowers are in blossom. Every day from 10:00 to 16:00, you can admire our elephant family in their spacious outdoor enclosure in Karibuni; they only stay in their indoor facilities in case of bad weather. In the Asian area, the Gibonika exhibit is home to a family of silver gibbons, along with a special interactive walkway. On the island exhibit near the pink flamingos, our group of ring-tailed lemurs has returned. In the Australian section, don’t miss the young red-necked wallabies. You can also look forward to seeing our capybara and tapir families.

After seven years, we have also welcomed chicks of Humboldt penguins. The twins hatched at the end of March, and with a bit of luck, you can now spot the little penguins peeking out from their nesting burrow. In the Jaguar Trek exhibit, you can see not only our jaguar pair, Yuna and Akabo, but also little Mayara, who is already actively participating in regular training just like her parents. Be sure not to miss the guided jaguar feeding, where you can see her in action.

In May, guided animal feedings start again—detailed schedules are available on our website.

You can also visit Lešná Castle. Tours of 11 historic rooms take place on weekdays (except Mondays) at 11:00 and 13:00, and on weekends and public holidays from 10:00 to 16:00. We recommend purchasing a discounted combined ticket for both the zoo and the castle.

The zoo grounds are open daily from 8:30 to 18:00, with ticket offices and entry turnstiles open until 17:30. Refreshments are available at restaurants Tyrol, Limpopo, U Koaly, and Neapolitáno, as well as at Pizzeria Kookaburra, Pancakes, Chocholatérie, Kefa Bar, Mopani Bar, and Coffee Express. You can buy nice souvenirs in our zoo shops at the main and seasonal entrances and at Ray Bay. Free parking is available at both the main and seasonal entrances.

We recommend purchasing tickets online, but ticket offices are also available at both entrances, along with self-service ticket machines.

The magical world of animals and blooming nature at Zlín Zoo is waiting for your visit. We look forward to seeing you!
