Breaching a milestone!

For the very first time in its history, the Zlín Zoo passed the long-awaited milestone of 800,000 visitors to the zoo in a single year. On December 25, Mr. Doležal visited the zoo together with his wife Hana and their large family.

The gifts for the visitor reaching the magical milestone were quite extraordinary. Mr. Doležal and his wife received a weekend stay at the Spa Hotel Lanterna in Velké Karlovice, donated by Resort Valachy.
“We were happy to donate the gift voucher for a three-day wellness stay at Resort Valachy to the jubilee 800,000th visitor. We believe that this stay in the heart of the Beskydy mountains will be a wonderful reward and a perfect opportunity to relax. We warmly congratulate Mr. Doležal and his wife,” said Alena Dujková, the economic director of HP Tronic s.r.o..

Zoo Zlín itself gifted the jubilee visitor a free Zoo Zlín family membership annual pass, small gift items, and plush toys for their grandchildren who were visiting the zoo with them.

“The year 2025 is truly exceptional for the zoo. I congratulate the director and all employees on achieving such an outstanding success. I would also like to thank everyone who provides services for visitors in and around the zoo, as well as the residents living nearby, for their tolerance. As the zoo’s trustee and main donor, we are proud that our zoo surpassed the milestone of 800,000 visitors per year. This is the proof of the excellent work of our animal keepers and the attractiveness of the entire area. I thank all visitors to Zoo Zlín for being part of our story and contributing to the zoo’s continued growth,” said Jiří Korec, the mayor of Zlín.

The zoo is listed among the top ten most popular tourist destinations in the Czech Republic.
“Reaching 800,000 visitors is an absolutely fantastic achievement for us. I would like to thank every single visitor who visited the zoo this year. Also, thanks to our visitors and the support of our partners, sponsors and the trustee of the Zlín Zoo – the Statutory City of Zlín – our zoo becomes more beautiful every year and continues to grow,” said Roman Horský.

He also mentioned an interesting comparison:
“We welcomed our 600,000th visitor for the first time on 10/25/2015 at 2:55 p.m. Seven years later, on 10/16/2022 at 2:58 p.m., the 700,000th visitor passed through our gates. And on 12/25/2025 at 10:14 a.m., we welcomed the 800,000th visitor. Now we will see what numbers the future brings. I believe that the gradual expansion of our Karibuni district – as well as the other new attractions - will help us break yet another milestone,” Horský added.
