Jaguar trek

Year of opening: 2022

Set out on a journey to meet the king of the South American jungle.

You’ll find spacious indoor areas, an outdoor enclosure with a pond, and an exceptional complex covering more than 2,000 m² – a size unmatched anywhere else in Europe. Watch the jaguars up close – as they rest, play, and even swim.

Interesting facts:

  • Vast complex – with an area exceeding 2,000 m², Jaguar Trek is the largest facility of its kind in Europe.

  • Summer enclosure with a pond – jaguars not only enjoy swimming but even diving underwater.

  • Winter and summer sections – the complex includes two spacious indoor dens, a winter enclosure, and a covered outdoor area beneath a steel mesh canopy.

  • Commented feeding sessions – don’t miss this unique opportunity to observe the jaguars’ natural behavior during feeding time.

  • Other residents – besides the jaguars, the winter enclosure is also home to toco toucans and the red-legged seriema.

  • Neighboring aviary – dedicated to South American bird species, including military macaws and, for the first time in the zoo’s history, Andean condors.

  • New visitor route – the project also includes a redesigned path for both pedestrians and the zoo train, with serpentine turns making the slope more enjoyable to walk.
