A colorful journey to South America.

This newly named complex of exhibits underwent a major reconstruction in 2017. The largest bird aviary in the Czech Republic brings you right among flocks of macaws and other South American birds. The area is also home to squirrel monkeys, capybaras, anteaters, and the rare woolly monkeys.

Interesting facts:

  • Walk-through parrot aviary – expanded by one-third, now the largest in the Czech Republic. Up close, you can see blue-and-gold macaws, red-and-green macaws, hyacinth macaws, military macaws, red-shouldered macaws, and collared aracaris.

  • Squirrel monkeys – a larger enclosure with two separate areas provides space for these agile primates.

  • Capybaras and anteaters – near the pond, the summer enclosure for capybaras and the giant anteater exhibit are on display.

  • Woolly monkeys – found in only two European zoos! Here, they have indoor dens and an island with dense vegetation for training their climbing skills.
